Is human customer service dead?

For the big global brands, this is a *heck* yes. For consumers, it's a nightmare. 

It seems bots have been around for several years now, and it's hard to say after a few 'key' queries (i.e. order status, service status, etc.) if there's been much improvement. It's gotten to the point where as soon as a bot agent pops up on a website, I am first to fire at the 'X' to get out of it or type 'AGENT' immediately to get to someone asap. I just need to know someone is there. And most times, there isn't.  

One of the most important parts of any purchase is the after-care. Hands down it what makes a customer return for a product, a client for service. It's why we chose  Shopify to host this website, because their live chat support is pretty darn helpful. And what good is a product or service if it doesn't help you feel good or right?
